The Butterfly Palace - TRND CAMP January 2021

Everyone told me, part of the fun of TRND Camp was the drive there. I guess none of them had to ride with Mitch. Though we did make lots of stops for snacks (bonus points) that ride was treacherous. But truth be told, if I didn’t almost die three times on the way, it wouldn’t have been the same. And now we have a running joke for the week.

The dynamics of the team we brought out was unbelievable. I’ve never seen a group of more cohesively individual people in my life, I'm obsessed with the variety.

I took lots of walks this week, with lots of different people from the team. I feel like we all understand each other better and are more excited to work with each other in our many different areas of talent. Some of the collabs that happened were, in my mind, uncommon. And I wasn't sure if many of them were a good idea. But damn!!! Did they all prove me wrong. Some artists went as far as finishing backup projects in addition to the projects on their forefront, while others might not have even picked up their main craft at all that week (It's me, I didn't pick up my camera once). But, the trip gave me the chance to be creative in ways I don't usually give myself the time for. As next to none of you know, I write a weird variation of what I call poetry. I haven't written so much in the past year or so. Which is kinda lame bc i'm not that bad. But this week gave me the opportunity to be away from everything I know and feel lots of emotions and write. I usually hid in the back room during the day to write so no one would ask me questions. And if you think i'm gonna share any of what I wrote, you're wrong... But maybe one day.

But probably not.

I really love that these people push me to be better but don't try and tell me how to do it. Growth is different for each of us, and we all have our own ideas. I'm glad we make the effort to embrace that. I'm proud of every single person on this team and the people still making their way to us. Hopefully whoever comes for the first time next year doesn’t choose to ride with Mitch. Unless they’re into that.

Taking time to be around people that I could only say I wished i was closer with was a dream. I not only love these people for their talent and drive, but these mf’s FUNNY! From bath robes and chest tats to running over each other's good feet, humor was at a chaotic peak for us as a team. I loved every second of it. Speaking of Megan Elaine's good foot. We call it her good foot because her other one basically fell off after she bombed a hill on her penny board. It was only once she was getting to the bottom, that our dear friends who told her to do it wondered if it was too high. But if there's anything that girl knows, it's how to laugh it off. I dont think I’ve ever seen her upset, like, actually upset. Megan might be indestructible. Emotionally.

She made it to the butterfly palace with one leg to spare. But oh my gosh I would too! BUTTERFLIES! I will literally never get over it. This place had so many butterfly themed shot glasses on the table that you see as soon as you walk in, so you know they're here for a good time. I can not even begin to explain how excited I was to be there. I’ve always wanted a stupid little picture with a stupid little butterfly on my stupid little nose. So annoying but I tried countless times before it finally happened. Thank you Mitch for capturing one of the greatest damn moments of my life. We got a lot of fun little videos from that place, click here to see!

Thank you to everyone who had a good chat with me this week. Thank you for teaching me to smoke a tobacco pipe. (flex: im kinda good at it). Thank you for bringing me somewhere with cool air. I love you Texas but girl I want winter. Thank you for making me part of this team. Thanks for being good people.

Mad love! xx
