The Snowpocalypse - February 2021

The first day without power I woke up to freezing toes. I checked the tempeture within instagram like any self respecting Gen-Zer would do, and found that it was 6 degrees. I vowed to stay in bed, and listen to audio books the remainder of the day. A day with an excuse to stay home besides a global pandemic. Of course my partner Mitch calls at 9:15 am, and asks what I’m up to. “I’m just chillin man, gonna enjoy the day just talking to management clients. Maybe write about my feelings or read a book.” It was then that I realized my phone was at 12%. No big deal, I’ll use my computer to charge it. But when I went to power up my MacBooks, both are too cold to turn on. Well, maybe I won’t be staying in bed at all today. I decide at the very least I’ll need a power bank to charge my phone. So I bundled up, wiped the 6 inches of snow off of my windshield, and headed out. The cool thing about driving a stick shift front wheel drive Mazda is that I actually have better traction control then most of these kids with their dad’s lifted trucks. I’ve spent a little time up north, and my dad drives a truck, so I at least know how to not yeet myself off a bridge that’s iced over. I decided to pick up a couple groceries as well. Upon arriving back at my house I then realized that I wouldn’t be able to cook my buffalo chicken tenders because I still had no power. That was enough to convince me that driving 45 minutes on the frozen highway to Mitch’s place was in fact a good idea. If the raccoons don’t get to my groceries I left on the back porch before I can come back, I’ll be able to enjoy my sweet, juicy buffalo tenders upon my arrival back home.

An artist we work with writes for some other people, and one of her deadline’s was Monday, February 15th. So Mitch and I braved the roads to finish up with the artist, as well as see one of our favorite DFW artists AVERI BURK. Once again braving the roads back to Mitch’s, we got to work updating our website, and connecting with our management clients. You can see the fruits of our labor here. Of course we obviously took the obligitary snow pictures. Well Mitch did and I tried. See below.

What did you do over the Snowpocalypse? Anything music related? Stay warm, and stay safe everyone!
